NLS Counterfeits: What you need to know
Unmasking the Counterfeits: Navigating the NLS Landscape
Many have attempted to replicate the incredible informative and healing capabilities of the Institute of Practical Psychophysics (IPP) Metatron NLS Systems. However, it’s essential to recognize that there are counterfeit systems in the market that may appear similar to Metatron and even call themselves Metatron—but they are not.
The Counterfeit Challenge
-
Misleading Imitations:
- Ashok Agrawala, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Maryland and Director of the Maryland Information and Network Dynamics (MIND) Lab, has extensively studied NLS devices.
- Most counterfeits are not genuine NLS devices; they often masquerade as random number generators or binaural tone devices.
- Specifically, Dr, Agrawala says AO Scan devices are not true NLS devices; their therapy relies on randomly selecting a binaural tone from a limited tone set.
-
Safety and Accuracy:
- None of these imitations can match the accuracy, ease of use, or effective therapy of an IPP device.
- Furthermore, they do not conform to medical device safety/manufactury standards.
- Some non-regulated NLS machines fail to meet international standards for medical devices.
-
NLDS’s Mission:
- NLDS aims to ensure that practitioners and patients are aware of these imitation machines.
- The goal is to prevent deception and, more importantly, protect patients from harm.
Metatron: The Gold Standard in NLS Certification
Metatron stands as the pinnacle of NLS certification. Let’s explore why it’s the unrivaled choice:
-
ISO 13485:2016 Certification:
- Metatron is the only NLS system on the market certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
- ISO standards ensure quality, efficacy, and compliance across industries.
- These guidelines protect patients and practitioners from medical device fraud.
-
Patents and FDA Clearance:
- Metatron holds patents in the USA (#20030069513, #20100081959) and Germany (#WO2008089746A1).
- It has been cleared by the FDA (#3004957957) since 2012 as a class II biofeedback device.
-
Counterfeit Awareness:
- Spotting a counterfeit is simple: check the headset.
- Metatron uses electromagnetic headsets labeled ‘Metatron,’ while fakes use generic headphones.
- Counterfeits lack labeling and may cause tinnitus in patients.
-
Imitation Risks:
- Imitation devices pose serious risks.
- Some companies charge more than genuine Metatron systems.
- If you’ve been deceived, seek legal counsel and report offending parties.

A Word to the Wise
Beware Counterfeit NLS Systems
Imitation devices pose serious risks to patients and practitioners.
- Risk of Harm: Imitation devices should not be used under any circumstances. They typically do not have:
- Basic electrical certification CE (or other) mark and thus may cause harm to patients.
- None have ISO 13485:2016 Certification for medical devices
- None have government certifications
- Deceptive Marketing: Some companies charge more than genuine Metatron systems. Don’t fall for their marketing schemes. These counterfeit entities often negotiate down to US$500 to $2000 for a final price even if they list $30,000 as an initial price
- Legal Counsel: If you’ve been deceived, please contact us for legal counsel.
Known Counterfeit Systems
The following table lists known counterfeit Metatron Systems and non-regulated NLS devices. While this list isn’t exhaustive (as these entities often rebrand), it serves as a warning. If you suspect fraud, help us update this list by reporting offending parties. Let’s promote legal NLS devices for better healthcare!
If you are a listed manufacturer and think this information is incorrect please contact us with your information and manufacturing certifications. We will be happy to include your information on our website! The more legal NLS devices the better!
